OAP freezes during heating repair delay

A POOLE pensioner has been left freezing in her own home despite paying hefty premiums for emergency repair cover for her broken boiler.
Evelyn Hedley-Cheney, 76, has been forced to take three hot water bottles to bed and wash with kettle-boiled water for more than three weeks.
This is despite paying extra on her home insurance policy with RIAS – a specialist over-50s insurer – to cover crisis scenarios like broken heating.
