• Add relevant content to the group.   Talk to other members of the group.   Make sure to answer any questions you can, be real.

• Try to add as many of the group members as your friends as you can.

• Look into which of your new friends from the group have a blog with content pertaining to your company.  Check their profile info to see if they have a blog.

• Add some good comments to their blog or see if they will let you contribute some content to their blog.

• After you write the content for them, see if they will give you a link back to your site.

The age of your site and its respective inbound links are important when it comes to search engine ranking factors. There are many aged inbound links on an older domain and this is good when Google crawls your site. Older sites will rank a lot easier than new sites for any keyword. It is essential for a new site to earn the trust of search engines by adding good fresh content and by getting links from older more trusted domains.

Adding New Links too Quickly?

If your site all of a sudden has 50,000 links back to it Google may see these links as paid links and therefore penalize your site. Getting too many low PR junky links back to your site too quickly is not good. Although Google will be happy to see a bunch of quality links back to your site in a short period of time.

Adding Pages too Quickly?

From what I’ve read it is ok to add 1,000 pages a day and Google has no problem with this. Where Google will have a problem is if you add 500,000 new pages in a day. This will surely flag your site to be manually audited by Google. Whatever you do, don’t spam Google and you will be OK as Google will notice any abnormal activity in regards to page additions.in your website’s specific industry.

One way to get some solid links back to your site is through posting comments on other blogs by searching in Google for your keyword followed by a space then “post a comment.” Ex. chicago seo “post a comment” and of course the top entries will most likely have a high PR.

It is tedious work but it will pay off. Another way to gain some links is to post multiple comments on High PR blogs with RELEVANT comments, not just, “Great post man.” Continue posting comments on the high PR blog every day or every other day and while you are doing this, go ahead and put a link to their site in your blogroll and actually click on it to get to their site. This will let the author of the blog know that you are linked to them without saying anything and they will notice you are posting on their site. After a while it will be time to ask for them to link back to you as you have helped them out with some great relevant content on their blog. My search for the secrets behind SEO are never satisfied as I keep talking to self proclaimed Search Engine Optimization Gurus who have conflicting views on what needs to be done beyond the obvious. I probably started off by trying to optimize my website for a keyword that is too competitive. The main keyword I chose about 6 months ago was Chicago web design, which was most likely a mistake as there are several other keywords that would have made more sense with less competition bogging me down. I recently contacted a SEO company, SEO Design Solutions, for a consultation and it was extremely informative and full of massive amounts of useful information. These guys got their act together and really know their stuff; after all, they do show up number one when you search for “SEO Chicago.” Their consultation was done over the phone as they used GoToMeeting to take over my screen to show me how I could improve upon my web sites standing in several ways. I tried to capture the meeting using Camtasia but failed which kind of pissed me off, but oh well.

My newly found obsession with Chicago SEO has been brought on by the simple fact that your sites visibility is essential to your business, unless you don’t want anyone to find you on the net. Hey, I’m still fascinated by a good flash site or any cool looking site for that matter, but what’s the point if nobody can find it to see your masterpiece?
